SIGGRAPH Asia 2017: Have You Booked Your Tickets To Bangkok?

Thailand’s Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) is ready to host the 10th edition of SIGGRAPH Asia from 27th through 30th November 2017. Being the biggest annual conference on computer graphics and interactive techniques in the continent, SIGGRAPH Asia anticipates more than 7000 professionals from CG and visual content industry, representing over 60 countries.

The four-day convention will be an assortment of symposiums on Education, Visualization, Mobile Graphics, and Interactive Applications, workshops, awards, expo, art gallery and many other events. Award-winning National Geographic Explorer Albert Yu-Min Lin and the director of Facebook’s Computational Photography Group, Michael Cohen will be the key-note speakers for the global conference.

The first two days of the event will witness a symposium on Mobile Graphics and Interactive Applications where the attendees can learn a great deal about technology, development, marketing, challenges and opportunities of mobile graphics and interactive applications. The symposium features a talk session by the invited speaker, demonstrations, and five paper sessions on Mobile Graphics, AR/MR, Mobile Interactive, and Industry Cases.

A symposium on Visualization will be held from 28th to 30th November with an inaugural talk session by invited guest Issei Fujishiro, Professor, Keio University, Japan. This event features five paper sessions on Visual Data Mining, Visual Reasoning, Volume Rendering, Graph Drawing, and Volume Visualization. This symposium on Visualization aims to educate the attendees with demonstrations on visualization techniques & interactive applications.

The VR Showcase will set the stage for the attendees to learn the latest trends in virtual reality and augmented reality. Besides so many talk sessions and presentation on the VR technologies, the attendees can have a screening of ‘The Planet Cube’ which is a surreal full-dome film.

The attendees of the event can take part in the workshops to discuss the novel ideas on emerging trends of computer graphics and interactive techniques. The workshop events include Digital Heritage and Innovative Collaborations, Data-Driven Animation Techniques, and Artificial Intelligence MEETS Virtual and Augmented Realities.

SIGGRAPH Asia partners with Oriental DreamWorks, AMD, The Foundry, and Jaunt China  to unveil the premier Computer Animation Festival in Asia. The event will be celebrating all the best animation works done in the year across the world. Théophile Dufresne and team’s Garden Party will receive the Best Student film award and Luis Uson’s Afterwork will take the Best in Show award while Here’s The Plan and (00) will receive the Jury awards.

Unity and SBA Media Content Centre, along with Tsinghua University, sponsor the Visit Exhibition from 28th November throughout the conference. Industry majors such as Adobe, Business Visualization Group, Data Design, Epic Games, Linux and many others are going to exhibit innovative future technologies to the attendees.
